Viola (Harper) Hill 102, Sandusky, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday January 29, 2022 after a brief illness.
Viola was born in Anderson, SC on December 16, 1919 to John and Katie Harper.
Viola was united in marriage to Willie Hill in 1945. She relocated to Sandusky, OH while her husband served in the Army in WWII.
Viola held many jobs in her lifetime including: Philco, Housekeeping, and she retired from Van Dresser Corp.
She was an avid gardener and florist, creating a showcase for the community in her yard. She was very family-oriented, and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She was blessed to see five generations in her family.
Viola is survived by her only child, Linda (Larry)
Knight, Sandusky, three granddaughters Shari Wood, and Lauri Knight both of Sandusky, and Ashley Knight of
Avon, OH. Six great-grandchildren Teshanna Wood, Clearwater, FL, Phillip Wood, Columbus, OH,
Tiffani Wood, Clearwater, FL, Israel Knight, Sandusky, Carter Moumouni and Kingston Dawes both
of Avon, OH. Four great-great grandchildren Landis Randleman, Isaiah Garcia, Londyn Wood-Garrett,
and Josiah Monserrate all of Clearwater, FL. Special nieces Bernice (Lonell) Taylor, Sandusky, and
Elise Hunter both of Sandusky, Special friends who were like her "sons" Phillip Hunter and Willie Clark both
of Sandusky, OH, and a host of special family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years, siblings, Bill Harper, James Harper,
Christine Harper, Jenny Eastrich, Annie Mae Hunter, Walter Harper, Jack Harper, and a host of special
family and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 12 pm, noon. at Toft Funeral Home and Crematory 2001 Columbus Avenue Sandusky, with Pastor Josiah Brown presiding. Per the family's request, masks are strongly encouraged. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
