Carl Allden West, 78, of Huron, passed away in his home on Friday, March 18, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 25, 1943 in Charleston, WV to the late Allden and Helen (Walker) West.
He was a United States Army veteran, honorably serving from 1960-1963. He retired from Ford Motor Company, where he served many years as a supervisor.
Carl and his recently late wife, Cynthia, loved to snowbird. They took their camper/RV south anywhere with a casino. They also loved celebrating Mardi Gras. In their time together, Carl and Cynthia rescued 12 pugs.
Carl is survived by his children, Heather Bernice "HB" West, of Georgia, Russ (Terra) Tansey, of Michigan, Frances (John) Korhel, of Vermilion, and Sissy Tansey, of Willard; six grandchildren; brother, Stephen (Laura) Walker, of W. Virginia; sister, Marian West Smith, of Missouri; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and their Queen of the Lakes community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Cynthia West, on March 4, 2022; and daughter, and Peggy Tansey.
Visitation will be from 5-6 P.M. on Thursday, March 24 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory with a service beginning at 6 P.M. Military honors will immediately follow. The service will be recorded and live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
