Rita G. (Chamberlain) Manner, 93, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, March 23, 2022 at her home following a brief illness.
Rita was born on August 20, 1928 in Sandusky, OH to the late William and Ethel (Obergefell) Chamberlain.
Rita was a custodian at St. Mary's High School for 18 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she served on the bereavement committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, embroidery, word search puzzles, sitting on her porch and spending time with family.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Barb Manner of Sandusky, Janet Scott of Toledo and Alice (Leonard) Yonkman of Paw Paw, MI; sons, Ron (Janelle) Manner of Lakewood and Joe (Tania) Manner of Toledo; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Bartlett, Joel Yonkman, Andy Scott, Lisa Scott, Brian (Masa) Scott, Jack Manner, Ben Manner and Emily Manner; 7 great-grandchildren, Claire, Jaxon, Emmet, Lincoln, Hayley, Riley and Luka; sister, Joyce (Paul) Tight of Vermilion; brother, Ralph (Joan) Chamberlain and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Manner in 1997; sisters, Ruth Leidorf, Lois Ulmer, Alice Brady and Marilyn Millis and brothers, Joseph, Robert, Charles, Paul and David Chamberlain.
Friends may call on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Zach Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
