John Williams Ferguson Sr., 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Thursday morning, March 31, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.
John was born on October 12, 1938 in Sandusky, OH to the late James and Agnes (McGory) Ferguson.
John retired as an apartment manager working for TVP Realty after several years. He was a Veteran of the US Army. John was a member of the Vermilion Amvets Post 22. In his spare time, he enjoyed classic cars, trains, camping, fishing, traveling to Florida, parasailing, and spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by his daughters, Susan (Ray) McKenzie and Pamela (George) Davenport both of Sandusky; sons, John (Jen) Ferguson Jr. of Sandusky and Rick (Vikki) Ferguson of Vermilion; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Nancy Hasenmeier of Vermilion; brother, David (Linda) Ferguson of Toledo and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Harmon) Ferguson in 2017; son, Scott Ferguson and brother, James Ferguson.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
