Maria Teresa Hernandez, 43, Plymouth, Ohio, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky after a courageous, six-year battle with cancer.
She was born on October 12, 1968 in Luvianos, Mexico.
Maria loved to knit for her family, and was one heck of a cook. She always gave what she could to anyone in need and put everyone else before herself, especially her son, Ivann. Maria was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Willard, and especially loved the song "Permitame Adorate (Let Me Praise You)."
Maria is survived by her son, Ivann Salas; mother, Maria Ines Hernandez, Mexico; brothers and sisters, Silviano Hernandez, Mexico, Maria Hernandez, Mexico, Guillermo Hernandez, TX, Juan Hernandez, Mexico, Agustina Hernandez, Mexico, Jose Esteban Hernandez (Blanca Leticia Cardenas), OH, Jose Nahum Hernandez, IL, and Ruby Hernandez, Mexico; nieces and nephews, Sidia, Alex, Manolo, Nancy, Stephanie, Alex, Rigo, Susy, Juan, Vicky, Maria Ines, Elizabeth, Haydee, Omar, Ivonne, Cynthia, Rosie, Natividad, and Magdalena; partner and caregiver, David Salas; sister-in-law, Ofelia Hernandez; Pastor Sylvia Morla; and special family, Veronica and Christina.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Hernandez; paternal grandparents, Silviano Hernandez and Agustina Aviles; maternal grandparents, Isacc Barcenas and Victoria Costelan; and a niece, Rosie.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 12 Noon until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Willard.
