William E. "Bill" Taggart, 86, Bellevue, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on March 25, 1936 in Clarksburg, WVA, to the late Mack and Evelyn (Stanley) Taggart.
He graduated from Medina High School and moved to Bellevue in 1962.
He was employed by the former Johnson Furnace Co. and then owned and operated Taggart Heating and Air Conditioning from 1975 to 2005.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving the Vietnam Era and the Korean War.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellevue, the Masonic Temple, Lions Club, American legion, Vintage Chevy Club, Car and car Coddlers Club. Bill owned over 300 antique Chevys, and he and his wife attended many vintage car tours.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Stanley) Taggart, to whom he was married 64 years, October 19, 1957; sons, Bruce (Theresa) Taggart and Brad (Renae) Taggart both of Bellevue; grandchildren, Raquel Taggart, Amelia Taggart, Mack Taggart, and Tanya (Stephan) Hahn; step grandchildren, Tony Harvey and Curtis (Amanda) VanVerlerah; great-grandson, Braylon Rohrbacher; step-great-grandchildren, Dawson VanVerlerah and Kinsley VanVerlerah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Bloomberg; and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11 A.M. in First United Methodist Church, 901 Northwest St., Bellevue, OH 44811. Rev. Justin Jump will officiate.
