James J. Neidert, 86, Oak Harbor, died peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born on May 31, 1935 in Akron, OH to the late Ellis and Mary (Miller) Neidert.
James graduated from Canal Fulton High School, where he played trombone, and lettered in football and basketball. After graduation James joined the Ohio Air National Guard, serving for 36 years and retired as Chief Master Sergeant, with the 200th Red Horse Squadron as automotive mechanic.
Jim passions included farming, drag racing, and hot rods.
He is survived by his sister, Marge Burwell, Canal Fulton, OH; and his faithful companion Max the cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy; and his partner, Janet Mehling.
At his request there will be no services.
