Beatrice M. (Pierce) DeAngelo, 79, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022 following a brief illness while listening to the tennis channel (one of her favorite things).

Beatrice was born on September 24, 1942 in Sandusky, OH to the late Ralph and Beatrice (Young) Pierce.

Beatrice graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1960. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, served for many years as the Secretary for the St. Mary's Central Catholic Athletic Boosters, was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority, and played in various golf, tennis, and bowling leagues over the years, winning her tennis league championship on more than one occasion. Bee also enjoyed visiting casinos, soaking up the sun, playing cards with her many friends, and was known as a terrific dancer.

Bee will be remembered best for her love of family and enthusiasm for sports. One of her greatest joys in life was following her children and grandchildren as they participated in their many sporting activities.

Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Christine (Carl) Engel of Rockport, MA, Carla (Kevin) Pelz of Sandusky, Nicole (Damon) Dohar of Mineral Ridge, OH and Toni (Christopher) Congeni of Akron, OH; son, Dominic (Rebecca) DeAngelo of Mechanicsburg, PA; 13 grandchildren, Abby and Jake Engel, Camille, Marisa and Lea DeAngelo, Dominique, Kyle and Gianna Pelz, DeAngelo and Delaney Dohar, and Samantha, Madeline, and Giada Congeni; sister, Joyce (Deb) McGuire and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by husband, Samuel A. DeAngelo in 2015 and sister, June Knauer in 2014.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 7, from 4:00-6:00 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday, May 9, at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Jacob George will officiate. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
