Rita G. (Galindo) Dreschel, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022 at home.
Rita was born on March 13, 1928 in Fostoria, OH to the late Donato and Maria (Meza) Galindo.
Rita graduated from Margaretta High School in 1947. She was a life long active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she was also volunteer for the bereavement committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard, and was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. She was also known as "Grandma Ritie" to all family members.
Rita is survived by her son, John (Andrea) Dreschel of Sandusky; grandchildren, Cris (Linda) Dreschel, J. (Laura Jeane) Dreschel, Krissy (Rich) Pellegrino and Jessica Dreschel; great-grandchildren, Trent, Taylor, Laurionna, Issaiah, Logan, Emmelene and Penelope; daughter-in-law, Donna Dreschel; sisters, Rosemary (Rich) Griffin and Jaci (Kenny) Burmeister and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by husband, James Dreschel Sr; sons, Ronald and James Dreschel; sisters, Mary Galindo-Randall, Jeanie Marzullo and Teresa Edwards and brothers, Raymond, Vincent, William, Keeno and Santos Galindo.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rita "Chena" Scroggy, Rosemary "Butchie" Griffin, Jaci and Kenny Burmeister, Gilberto and Regina "Cha" Sanchez, her late sister, Jeanie Marzullo and all her family that helped care for her.
Visitation for both Rita and her son, James, who passed away in December 2021 will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Deacon Bill Burch will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
