Jimmy Joe Jessee, Sr., 87, Sandusky, started and ended his journey with open arms on the stairway to heaven, Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
Jimmy was born in St. Charles, VA on April 23, 1935, where he met his high school sweetheart, Barbara S. Fortner. They were married in West Carrolton, OH on December 16, 1953.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after 37 years of service. Jimmy was an avid Cleveland Indians and NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed golf and bowling.
Jimmy attended Saturday night church at The Chapel, where he said hello to everyone he saw.
He is survived by his five daughters, Sheila (Thomas) Behnke, Julie (John) Jessee-Watson, Robin (Ray) Hall, Ronalyn (Carl Lazarra) Buder, and Jacqueline (Fred Chavarra) Conley; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and several other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Jimmy Jessee, Jr.; parents, Leonard and Pina (Cook) Jessee; four grandchildren; four brothers; five sisters; and other family members.
Friends may call on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 1 P.M. until time of funeral services at 3 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Dave Brown will officiate. Burial will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
