Leonard W. Scott, 78, Sandusky, died on Saturday, February 25, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born on May 30, 1933 in Ashland, OH, to Kenneth and Helen (Repp) Scott, and lived most of his life in Ashland before moving to Sandusky 34 years ago to pursue his love of his Lyman boat and fishing.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Leonard owned and operated Scott Plumbing & Heating in Ashland for many years.
He was a lifetime member of the Plumber and Steam Fitters Local 42, American Legion Post 88, Ashland, and the Elks Club of Ashland. He was a practical joker who loved to make people laugh, and loved his nurse, "Gail". Besides fishing, he enjoyed taking care of his yard.
Leonard is survived by the love of his life, his wife, whom he married in 1980, Carol (Rosenbluh) Scott; daughter, Vikki Finley, Collins, OH; sons, Russell (Maureen) Scott, Phoenix, AZ, Tom (Kathy) Sattler and Trent (Desiere) Sattler, both of Sandusky, and Tim (Elisa) Sattler, Tulsa, OK; brother, John (Peggy) Scott, Ashland, OH; beloved grandchildren, Joshua Sattler, Jeremy Sattler, Justin Sattler, Ryan Scott, Jodi Willet, Kendall Sattler, Carmen Rambo, Chelsea Tyree, Courtney Sattler, and Kaitlyn Sattler; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pat Scott and Larry Scott; sisters, Jeanette Wierbiki, Marion Saner, and Jean Doerrer; and a son-in-law, Bill Finley.
A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, South Campus, Community Room, 1912 Hayes Ave., Sandusky. Melvin Sayler, Chaplain of Stein Hospice, will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky Honor Guard.
