Marcia Louise (Fugate) Snyder, 65, of Sandusky, and previously Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on May 6, 2022 after a brief illness.
She was born on July 22, 1956, in Hamilton to the late Marcus and Dorothy (Smith) Fugate.
After retiring from the Erie County Department of Job and Family services, Marcia enjoyed going for drives in state and to national parks with her husband, and volunteering at the Ohio Veterans Home and with Serving Our Seniors. In her younger years, she also took joy in playing billiards in different leagues and teams in the area. Besides her family, one of her proudest moments was with her team in 1994 when they won a national tournament for The American Poolplayers Association.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Rance Snyder; children, Roy (Anita) Clayton Jr., Tom (Vanessa) Clayton, Chelsea (Greg) Raugh, Randy Snyder, and Jerod (Sarah) Snyder; sister, Mary Carson; she was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Tyesha (Josh), Tenacity, Roy III, Roland, Thomas, Evan, Alton, Shanna, Colton, Johnny, Rihanna, and Davein; she adored her four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special life-long friends, Tiny Gresham, Vicki Ortman, and Kathy Hendrix.
She was preceded by her parents, siblings, Gary "Stevie" Young, Patricia Barnes, Charles and Marcus Fugate; her first husband, Roy Sr.; and close friends, Theresa Barnett and Sharon Luibel.
The family is going to have a private gathering at a later date.
