He then worked as an independent carpenter and eventually joined his father in the family business, Collart Interiors in Huron until closing its doors in 1994. He was involved for over 40 years with two inter-denominational prayer groups in Huron, the Wednesday morning group and the Canopy group, as well as various other prayers groups throughout his lifetime. He received a Golden Hammer award for his work with Habitat for Humanity where he was involved for over 15 years, and he also worked with Youth Elect Service for over 20 years. Henry dedicated his life to serving others, being involved in community food banks and delivering meals, as well as completing home repairs and offering rides to anyone in need. In his spare time, he also enjoyed traveling and reading. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially taking his grandson on tractor rides.

Our family lost a beloved husband, father, pere pere, brother and uncle on Friday. Henry was a man of faith who exuded love and care in every interaction. While we know he is looking down on us, we are nevertheless heartbroken and miss him dearly - the hole he leaves in our family and the community is immeasurable. If you are able, please consider making a donation to his memorial fund, which will contribute towards his funeral expenses and help look after his family in his absence. Those wishing to contribute to Henry's memory may do so to the Collart Family c/o Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
