Virginia "Ginny" Anne Castle, 73, Castalia, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, in Vanderbelt Medical Center, Nashville, TN.
Virginia was born on May 23, 1949 in Sandusky, Ohio, daughter of Wayne A. and Esther M. (Leidorf) Greene.
She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1968 and was a retail manager for many years. Virginia was known for her kindness, humor, and love for animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her hobbies included reading biographies, traveling, bird watching, cake decorating, bowling, flower gardening, antiquing, and caring for abandoned animals. She took in and cared for many stray cats and dogs over her lifetime. She also cared deeply about wildlife preservation.
In addition, Virginia had a passion for European history and especially enjoyed her trips to England, Germany, Italy, and the Vatican.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Dr. Amy (Dave) Elleman of Thompson's Station, Tennessee and Dr. Jennifer (William) Parrish of Greeley, Colorado, and three grandchildren Samantha Elleman, Alyssa Elleman, and Shannon Parrish. She is also survived by her brother James Greene (Linda), sisters, Barbara Greene and Melinda Greene, and niece and nephew Nicole and Nicholas Fecik.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar D. Castle.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 8, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave, Sandusky Ohio 44870, followed by a graveside service in Calvary Cemetery.
