Robert S. Seidel, age 90, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Norwalk Memorial Home.
He was born December 25, 1931, in Norwalk to Clarence and Mildred (Bistline) Seidel of North Fairfield.
Robert lived his entire life in Huron County, in the North Fairfield and Norwalk area. Most recently at 13 Baneberry Lane, Norwalk. He enjoyed the outdoors and made his yard and landscaping a showplace for the neighborhood. You would never see a leaf in his yard in the fall. Robert was a life member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 for over 50 years.
He is survived by his sons, Bob (Barb) Seidel of Norwalk, Steve (Heidi) Seidel of Norwalk and Kevin (Missy) Seidel of New London; daughter, Tina (Tracy) Mayse of Spencer; sister, Pat Kamann of Monroeville; a sister-in-law, Evalena (Ken) Detterman of Bloomville; grandchildren, Lori (Nick) Barman, Chad (Andrea) Wetherill, Brandy Seidel, Hunter Seidel, Andrew Seidel, Brendan (Christine) Seidel, Heather Skeleton; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth E. (Sheets) Seidel of 54 years in June 2008; sisters, Marylou (Dave) Graham, and Margaret (Gary) Milliron; brother, Paul (Janice) Seidel; and a brother-in-law, Gene Kamann.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home and burial will follow at Hester Cemetery.
