Ben W. Buser, 82, of Sandusky passed away on September 16, 2022.

He was born on March 24, 1940, in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Ben and Wildred (Martin) Buser, Sr.

He is a graduate of Sandusky High School, Class of 1958. Ben was a Professional Land Surveyor from 1970 until closing Buser Surveying in 2016. He was employed at the City of Sandusky Engineering Department for over 30 years. Ben was a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, Science Lodge No. 50, F.&A.M., 32° Mason, Valley of Toledo, The Kentucky Colonels, a 62-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 285, Sandusky Maritime Museum, AMVETS Post 17, and the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard.

Ben is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Dietrick) whom he married on April 25, 1964; their two wonderful daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Myers and Amanda Buser; he was Pa to his most awesome granddaughter, Josephine Myers; and Big Papa to the best puppies, Rebel and Cooper; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Charles Troike; nephews, Michael Troike, Kevin (Edgar) Troike, and Chester (Cecelia) Dietrick; niece, Cheryl Hawk; as well as several "grands".

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carol Hawk, and his nephew, Stewart Hawk.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Masonic services will be observed at 6:00 pm. On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, there will be a brief time of reflection at 11:00 am until time of service at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Reverend Jerald Fenske will officiate. A luncheon at St. Stephen United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall will immediately follow the service. A private committal service for the family will be held at Oakland Cemetery following the luncheon.
