David "Dave" T. Bauer, 85, of Castalia passed away Sunday morning September 25, 2022, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born October 27, 1936, in Sandusky and was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic School, Sandusky.
He was a journeyman pipefitter for Local Union 42. Dave had worked at the Ford Motor Company for fifteen years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the WLEC Sports Team, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Margaretta Boosters, and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and was an avid Margaretta Girls Basketball fan.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Kevin) Dircks of Huron, Michael (Laura) Bauer of Lake Michigan, Beth (David) Miller of Republic, Jeff Bauer of Catawba Island, and Scott Bauer of Castalia; grandchildren, Matthew (Chantelle) Duskins, Cody Miller, Amanda (Tony) Berzin, Erin (Eric) Scantlen, Evan (Karen) Bauer, Jennifer Bauer, Jared (Alysha) Bauer, Cassandra Dircks, Logan Bauer, and Jarrett Bauer; great grandchildren, Aaden, Avery, and Alyvia Duskins, Chase, Ella, Casey, and Wyatt Berzin, Genevieve and Charlotte Bauer, Gracelynn, Amelia, and Elijah Scantlen, Zach Bauer-Tallman, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jordan Bauer, parents, Linus and Elizabeth (Wiley) Bauer; brother, Charles Bauer; sisters, Carol and Juanita; and hunting buddy and nephew, Bill Bauer.
Friends may call from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A private family service will be held, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
