Lois Lucille (Nestor) Breitigan

Lois Lucille (Nestor) Breitigan, age 91 of Norwalk, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

She was born May 22, 1931, in Hartland Township and was a graduate from New London High School in 1950.

Lois was raised on the family farm and helped her dad with stacking hay and driving the tractor. She enjoyed trapping and selling furs. She then married Theodore Breitigan in Wakeman on October 21, 1950, who died in 1995. She was a member of Milan Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and church friends. She enjoyed eating at Berry's Restaurant for many years, attending Sunday school and listening to classic country music. She was known for her cheesecake which was requested by so many over the years.

She worked many years at Gaymont Nursing Center, Quality Care and Norwalk memorial Home, retiring from Fisher-Titus Medical Center in 1991.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Breitigan of Norwalk, and Barbara (Gary) Babcock of Rising Sun, Ohio; grandchildren, Shane Breitigan of OK, Stephanie Breitigan of Toledo, Michelle (Cory) Mohrman of Elmore, Kimberly Babcock of Toledo, Jamie Grooms of SC, Brandon Breitigan of SC, Christopher Breitigan of SC, Maria Gilbert of Norwalk, Derek Thornton of Shelby, and Seth Thornton of Norwalk; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Paul Breitigan in 2021; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Breitigan in 2007 and Anna Breitigan in 2019.

Visitation for friends and family will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Milan Baptist Church, 5199 Old State Road, Milan with Pastor Rod Hollen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
