Joan Szulc

Joan Szulc, 92, of Sandusky passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born December 28, 1929, in Haverigg, England and had lived in Toronto Canada for a few years before moving to the United States in 1954.

Joan was employed as a kitchen manager with the Perkins Public Schools for more than thirty years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Sandusky, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. Joan was a voracious reader, loved to bake, knit, and travel, especially to Las Vegas. Her most cherished moments were those spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Wanda (John) Dolan, Paul (Joanne) Szulc, Karen (Dominic) Johnson, both of Sandusky, and Mark Szulc of Medellin, Columbia, South America; two grandsons, Ryan (Phil Tamoutselis) Szulc and Christopher (Jamie) Szulc, both of Columbus; three great grandchildren, Elsie, Foster, and Sienna Szulc; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Szulc; her parents, Albert and Elizabeth (Dinsdale) Kellett; four siblings, Albert, Marian, Maureen, and Raymond.

Private family services will be held at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Brian K. Wilbert of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery.
