Luetta E. (Andrews) Prout

Luetta E. (Andrews) Prout, 93, of Castalia, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2022 at the Willows at Bellevue.

Luetta was born Jan. 13, 1929 in Groton Twp., Erie County, Ohio.

She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1946, and was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a lifelong member of St. John's UCC, Oxford Twp. and the Adult Fellowship, Margaretta Grange, Margaretta Country Gals Homemaker Club, advisor for Happy-Go-Lucky 4-H Club, and parade coordinator for the Castalia Cold Creek Celebration for 35 years. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening, baking date nut bread and banana bread, and volunteering for community services.

Luetta is survived by four children, Stephen M. (Betty) Prout, Milan, Susan (James) Kreim, Shelby, Sandra (Steven) Dean, Centerville, and Sharon (Christopher) Schaeffer, Castalia; eight grandchildren, Keri, Mandi, Andy, Molly, Brian, Kristen, Johnathan, and Lindsay: nineteen great-grandchildren, Nyx, Marco, Nathan, Wren, Logan, Brynn, Braden, Olivia, Tanner, Gabby, Moria, Amelia, Jackson, Will, Julia, Stephanie, Brady, Ellis, and Kennedy. She is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Vassallo, Sandusky, Bonnie Shelley, Norwalk, Katie Shelley, Upper Arlington; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Luetta was preceded in death by her parents Darwin and Elsa (Leber) Andrews; husband, Stephen H. Prout in 2000; brother, Denver Andrews, sisters, Anna Marie Stegman, and Linda Brunow; grandson, Michael C. Prout and great granddaughter, Grace C. Evans, both in 2011.

Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM Monday, November 14, 2022, at St. John's UCC, 2712 W. Mason Road, Milan. Reverend Wendy Schindler-Chasney will officiate and burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
