Ramola Gay Hemmer, 86, loving mother of 5, residing in Sandusky passed away early Saturday morning, November 12, 2022 at home following a lengthy illness.
Gay was born on December, 1 1935 in Wheelwright, KY to the late Onzie and June (Hopkins) Engle.
Gay accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior on January 16, 1963 and was a faithful member of the Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde, OH and enjoyed many church activities including Bible study.
Gay worked hard all her life to provide for her family. She was quiet and humble, but the love in heart shined through to everyone who knew her. Gay had many talents as a hair dresser, cake decorator, and making ceramics, but she truly loved making beautiful quilts, and was a member of the Sandusky Bay Quilters. She also loved flowers and everyone knew that her favorite color was purple.
"Mom" was the rock for her family. Gay made a great impact on her family and friends around her. They all knew that she loved God, her family, God's Word and church. Many hearts are heavy with her passing but happy that she is home in heaven for eternity all because of Jesus' finished work at Calvary.
Gay is survived by three daughters, Patty (Dean) Runyon of Guyana, South America, Debbie Bledsoe of Sandusky, and June (Mike) Pisarsky of Sandusky; two sons, Vernon Wobser and Thomas (Kathy) Wobser both of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Ray (Marie) Engle; 6 sisters, Faye Wells, Bonnie (David) Gowitzka, Linda (Darell) Patrick, Brenda (Bob) Smith, Pam (Bernie) Whitt all of KY and Jill Weems of TN and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Hemmer.
