Deborah Ann Charles passed away unexpectedly in her home on November 15th.
She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on January 29, 1951. She was the eldest daughter of Dorsey and Sidney Carr.
She is survived by her brother, Dorsey R Carr - "Robbie" (Twila) Lima, Ohio and little sister, Jody Lynn Carr-Stephens (Jeff), Kingston, Ohio, nephews, Dustin Smith, Neil (Kara) Carr; Tyler Carr as well as several great nieces and nephews, several cousins, including Allen and Michelle Miller who she was particularly close with.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyn Richard Charles and several aunts and uncles.
Debbie graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1970 and shortly after she began her working career at Whirlpool Corporation in Clyde, Ohio where she spent over 40 years. She made many friends there.
In October 1972, Debbie married the love of her life, Lyn, who passed away in 2010. Deb and Lyn spent many joyous days traveling to skeet shooting competitions, motorcycle rides and many vacations.
Debbie never met a stranger and although her close circle of friends was small, she was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She was particularly fond of her weekly TOPS meetings where she spent over 30 years helping and giving support to other members. She frequently attended conventions and meetings.
Another love in her life was her constant canine companion, Penny, who passed away late last year; she was heartbroken and always wanted to get another companion often asking her sister, Jody what she could do to make her next beloved an Emotional Support Dog.
Debbie was particularly fond of "lunch and dinner dates" with her friends and family members. Everyone who knew Debbie knew she thoroughly enjoyed shopping, always looking for a special gift for whomever was on her mind that day.
She loved the time she spent together with her Aunt Janie (Miller) and her father, Dorsey, at the Gypsum Crossing Bluegrass Hall.
Per the family's wishes all services will be private at this time. If you wish to honor Debbie's memory, please plant flowers and/or trees in her name and memory.
