Robert Edward Schweck Jr., 82, residing in Huron, passed away Monday evening, November 21, 2022 surrounded by his family at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Robert was born on March 11, 1940 in Fremont, OH to the late Robert Edward Sr. and Elizabeth A. (Harrod) Schweck.
Robert graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958, where he was an outstanding athlete. He was a Veteran of the Navy who proudly served his country from 1962 to 1968. Robert retired from the Sandusky Ford Motor Company in 2002 after 37 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 17, and a member of the American Legion Post 83. Robert enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Ohio State, as well as his children and grandchildren's events. Robert liked to be outdoors, and spending time at his cabin in Hocking Hills. Robert's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vicki (Hess) Schweck, whom he married on November 20, 1965. He is also survived by his sons, Robert (Kendra) Schweck III of Sandusky and David A. Schweck MD of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Mikayla, Derek, Connor and Katalina; brother, Richard Alan (Jeannie) Schweck of AL; brothers-in-law, Tony (Mary) Ellison of Sandusky and Terry Ellison of KY and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his infant brother.
A family gathering will be held and conducted at a later date. Burial will be take place in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury Township. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
