Mary Louise (Missione) Fosco

Mary Louise (Missione) Fosco, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, November 21, 2022 peacefully, in her home that she shared with her daughter, Donna.

Mary was born on January 24, 1928 in Sandusky, OH to the late August and Elvira (Gentile) Missione.

Mary graduated from Sandusky High School in 1946. She married the love of her life, James H. Fosco Jr., on October 23, 1947. They were married 69 years, before his passing on July 3, 2017. Together they raised five children. Mary was very devoted to raising her children, and loved being a stay-at-home mother. She also enjoyed her partnership with her husband, Jimmy, at Fosco Cement, Inc. Her favorite past time was cooking and feeding numerous family and friends. Mary's famous specialties were homemade ravioli, sugar cookies, apple pie, and the best fried perch.

Jim and Mary enjoyed traveling in the later years of their marriage, but truly enjoyed spending time with each other at home. Some of their most special times were spent together on their boat at Kelleys Island. Her sport later in life was catching double headers as they fished Lake Erie. Mary and Jim were well known and highly recognized for their mastery and love of dancing. In her early years, Mary had an endless love for roller skating. Exercise was a huge part of her life. She was a long-time member of the YMCA and also conducted water aerobics classes at Pinewood Condos where they lived. Many people would see her on her walks from Taylor Road to downtown Sandusky. Mary and Jim's greatest joy was following and supporting their children and grandchildren's activities.

Mary loved her Holy Angels family, where she was a Communion distributor, a member of the bereavement committee, attended Eucharistic adoration and prayed her rosary on Saturday mornings.

Mary is survived by her children, Marsha (Bob) Cotton of Cave Creek, AZ, Donna Fry of Sandusky, Dean Fosco of San Francisco, CA and Terri Mullins of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Anne Fosco; grandchildren, Regan King, Ryan (Amanda) Fry, Kelly (Brian) Wicker, Katie (Mike) Poeschl, Perry (Ashley) Mullins, Mallory (Travis) Roth and Madison Mullins; great-grandchildren, Paige and Dylan Wicker, Brody and Marley Poeschl, Palmer Mullins and Quinn and Cooper Roth; sister, Ann Lococo of Hudson; loving caregivers, Sue Murray and Alice Chaffin and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy in 2017; son, Steven Fosco in 2004 and son-in-law, Paul Mullins in 2014.
