Raymond "Ed" Marsh, age 66, of Castalia, died Thursday night, March 15, 2012, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky after a sudden illness.
He was born November 25, 1945 in Weston, W.V. and attended Lewis County Schools in Weston. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad and Bellevue City Schools. He served in the U.S. National Guard. Ed loved to watch Nascar and play Bingo.
He was a great husband, father, and grandfather and his family was the most inportant thing in his life. He loved to follow his grandkids in all their activities. To anyone who knew him, he was a fun guy, who loved life and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Evelyn (Hefner) Marsh; daughter Missy (Shaun) Tinnel, Sandusky; son Mike (Judina) Marsh, Castalia; three grandchildren Michael Marsh Jr., Maria Marsh, and Hayden Tinnel; sister Shelby Bush, GA; two brothers Earlin Marsh, Bellevue and Butch Sprouse, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Earlin and Sylvia Marsh-Sprouse; niece Angie Marsh; mother in-law Madeline Masters; and step-father Denzil Sprouse.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Monday at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia where services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
