George William Bogan

George William Bogan, age 78, of Milan, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky surrounded by his family.

He was born May 3, 1933 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Harry and Margaret (Truesdell) Bogan, and grew up in North Robinson, Ohio. He a Graduate of The Ohio State University, and spent most of his career as an administrator at the EHOVE Career Center in Milan.

He was a member of the Milan Rotary and received the Paul Harris Award. He was a former member of Milan Village Council, and once named Citizen of the Year. He was a member of the Norwalk Elks Lodge and was Past Exalted Ruler, Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and was an Elk of the Year. He is also a member of the James Ames Meacham Chapter #135 of the Masons. He enjoyed bowling, following his families' activities, giving service to his community through serving on the Board of Directors with the Elks, Rotary, Milan Melon Festival, and Senior Enrichment Services.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Pfeiffer); daughter, Roberta Richardson; sons, William (Amy) Bogan and Bernard Bogan; sister-in-law, Karen Davis; neice, Kim Burns; nephew, Kevin Davis; grandchildren, Gina, Michael, Clayton, Kate, Dan, Ben, Jeff, Nick, Jennifer and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Paige and Hunter; also survived by a brother, Jim; and a sister, Marge.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 1:00 - 3:00 and 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
