John "Kip" Karl Ohlemacher, 85, residing in Huron, passed away early Thursday morning, December 29, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
John was born on August 11, 1937 in Sandusky, OH to the late John H. Ohlemacher and Lydia (Dwelle) Bechtel.
John graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1955. He was the owner and operator of Bechtel-McLauglin, Inc. for 65 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara (Ditto) Ohlemacher, whom he married on September 7, 1957 in Van Wert, OH. He is also survived by his sons, Critt (Carol) of Canton, OH, Chuck (Lisa) and Chris (Barb) both of Sandusky, and Craig (Laura) Ohlemacher of Hubbard, OH; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Ohlemacher and step-father, Ron Bechtel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Private family burial will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
