Eugene R. Maloney, 71, Marblehead, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center
He was born on January 5, 1941 in Sandusky.
He retired from Sandusky Ford as an engineer.
Eugene was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen (Hammond) Maloney; children, Joe (Kim) Maloney, Huron, Mary Helen (John) Young, Catawba Island, Kimberly Ann (Joe) Schaefer, Huron, Daniel Maloney, Omaha, Nebraska, Kathleen (Brian) Compton, Upper Arlington, OH, Melissa (Joey) Janisheck, Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Maloney, Daniel Maloney, Lorelei Young, Mary Margaret Young, Emma Kathleen Young, John Eugene Young, Allison Marie Schaefer, Ashley Nicole Schaefer, John Maloney, Emily Maloney, Caroline Compton, Cole Compton, Molly Janisheck, and Boston Janisheck; sister, Judy Maloney, Colorado; and a brother, James (Catherine) Maloney, Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene J. and Eleanor (Jensen) Maloney.
There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date. At his request cremation has taken place in the Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Stein Hospice for their special care and support shown to them during Eugene's illness.
