Robert Dale Ehresman, 87, of Norwalk, died Friday, January 6, 2023 at Fisher Titus Medical Center.
Born on July 10, 1935 in Nevada, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lee Vern and Dorothy (nee Perry) Ehresman.
Dale, as he was known by most, attended New Washington High School and served in the United States Army in Japan from 1955-1957. He then served in the active reserves for 2 years and inactive for another 2 years. On April 19, 1958, Dale married Alta Swander at the Fireside Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church.
Dale was employed by North Central Egg and Poultry for 6 years and then at Buckeye Egg, in Croton, OH, for 34 years, retiring in July of 2000. After his retirement, he worked part time for John Miller Towing service.
Dale was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Norwalk, serving as an usher and volunteering with the community dinners. He was also a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie#711 and bowled on their league. He also bowled on leagues in New London, at Kennillie Lanes in Norwalk and on the Beckers Auto and Electric of Huron. Dale also enjoyed golfing, especially with his family. He loved to attend school sporting events, supporting his children and grandchildren. Dale will be remembered as a family with a heart big enough to match is large stature.
