James Dion Thomas Blissit, 44, of Sandusky made his eternal transition on January 3, 2023.
James was born August 8, 1978 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Cathy DeVese Blissit and Murphy "Chicago" Blissit.
James accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and became a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor Curtis A. Brown. James was a Sandusky High School class of 1996 member. He worked various jobs in and around the Sandusky area primarily in the food service industry. James loved to cook as much as he loved to eat, but what he truely loved to do was laugh. James' sense of humor and quick wit are what people recognized most about him and will miss dearly.
James leaves to cherish his memory his greatest joy, Jaida Raelynn Blissit, Sandusky; sister, Ashley Blissit, Sandusky; brother, Cameron Blissit, Sarasota, FL; nephew, Dimetrius ‘Jr' Koonce; grandmothers, Marjorie Green-Taylor and Mary DeVese, both of Sandusky; great aunt, Cathreen Jones, Sandusky; great uncle, Sylvester (Kym) Green, Baltimore, MD; aunts, Sonya (Carleton) Walker, Kenosha, WI; Brigitte (Harold) Green-Churchwell and Tanya Swopes, both of Sandusky; uncles, Michael Green, Sr., Sandusky, and Dr. Larry (Cynthia) DeVese, Columbus, OH and additional Green, DeVese, Blissit, Bracken, and Thomas relatives.
Preceding James in death are his parents, grandmother, Rozina DeVese, grandfathers ,James Green and Melvin DeVese, great-grandparents, Wes and Crenell ‘Queenie' (Norris) Green, aunt, Jaime Bracken, uncles, Scott V. Green, Charles LaMar Moore, Jamie DeVese, John Green, Goody DeVese, and David Jones and a host of other relatives.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky.
