Oby R. Kusser, of Sandusky, OH, passed away early Sunday morning January 15, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born January 23, 1933 in Sandusky, OH to the late Carl Thomas and Gertrude Emiline (King) Kusser Sr.
Oby was a member of Holy Angels Church in Sandusky, OH. Oby served honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Sandusky Register as a pressman for 50+ years. Oby played softball in his younger years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing over the years.
Oby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene B Kusser; two children, Mark (Charlotte) Kusser and Bryan Kusser; five grandchildren, Samantha (Joe) Kusser, Colorado Springs, CO, Michael (Nicole) Kusser Sr., Port Clinton, OH, Nicholas Kusser, Ashland, OH, Kimberly (Kenny) Debrosse, Bellevue, OH, and Christina (Marcus) Sheffield Lake, OH ; thirteen great-grandchildren, Hailey, Mason, Jaxon, Michael Jr., Hayden, Payton, Natalie, Elana, Monica, Blake, Elizabeth, Kaileb, and Jasmine; sister-in-law, Ida E. Kusser, Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend, Zloro VC Johnson.
Oby was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott R. Kusser; two brothers, Carl T (Bud) Kusser Jr. and Emmett P. (Ted) Kusser; and sister-in-law, Mary E. Kusser.
Friends may call Monday, January 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at the Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH where a parish wake service will be conducted at 6:00 pm. A private burial will be held at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
