Clayton H. Siesel, 95, of Bellevue passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1927, in Bellevue, the son of Joseph A. and Esther (Ruffing) Siesel.
Clayt graduated from Bellevue High School in 1945, then served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. Upon discharge, he joined his father and brother at C.W Schug Hardware, Bellevue, and later joined H&H Plumbing and Heating as a clerk, retiring in 1989.
He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, where he served as an altar boy and later as an usher; also, a member of Eagles Aerie 490, American Legion Post 46, NARVRE Unit 147 and the Four County Young-At-Heart.
Clayt married Eileen V. Claus on April 14, 1951, at Immaculate Conception Church; she survives along with their 4 children: Kristine Fauver of Bowling Green, Kathryn (Roger) Walters of Clyde, Joseph C. Siesel (Shari Sistek) of Geneva, and Robert (Lonnie) Siesel of Castalia, 10 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara VanHorn of Olmsted Falls; and sister-in-law, Sandra Siesel of Lexington KY.
In addition to his parents, Clayt was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold J. Siesel and Charles E. Siesel; sister, Mary Kathryn Stock; four nephews and a niece.
A memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or donor's choice.
