Michael D. Endsley, 76, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at his home on January 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was born in Nellie, Ohio to the late Forrest and Helen (Ridenbaugh) Endsley.
After graduating from Norwalk High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 25, 1964, active duty for 3 years, participating in counter insurgency operations in Republic of Vietnam. Mike was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite sports teams; Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State teams.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda, of 24 years and life partner of 39 years; children, David (Cindy) Endsley, Sean (Nadine) Endsley, Erin Alge, Christian (Beth) Endsley; and step-children, Shelly (Ken) Moore and Dale (Samantha) Wilson; eleven grandchildren, Caleb (Jayla) Endsley, Gabe (Karli) Alge, Aidan and Adrienne Endsley, Taylor (John) Weltlin, Trista Endsley, Jalyn, Alexa, and Ava Moore, Marissa (Todd) Wurmser, and Dalion Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Marilyn) Endsley; sisters, Judy (John) Chapman, Kay Neuberger, Sue (Kurt) Heyman and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his grandson, Jude Alge; granddaughter, Laura Hunt; and brother-in-law, Jim Neuberger.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10 am until 11 am at Maple City Church of God, 79 East Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 11 am. A procession and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
Mike lived, loved people, and went Home to be with the Lord.
