Lee Kathryn (Jeffries) Normington

Lee Kathryn (Jeffries) Normington, 67, of Huron, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at The Meadows at Osborn Park, after a brief and challenging battle with cancer.

Lee graduated from Mount Hebron High School and studied at Howard Community College in Maryland. In addition to being a devoted mother and grandmother, she was also employed as an Accounting & Finance Specialist with FEMA, a position she took great pride in. In her spare time, she enjoyed sharing experiences with friends and family any chance she could get.

Quick to laugh and always eager to help, Lee will be remembered for her detailed stories, boundless heart, and generous spirit. She wished the best for all those around her, and when wishing wasn't enough, she'd roll up her sleeves and simply saw to it herself. A caretaker's soul to the last, she spent her final days worrying less about herself and more about how the rest of us were doing. Some things never change.

Taken way too soon, Lee still managed to leave behind a surplus of love and laughter, and for that, her loved ones remain eternally grateful.

Lee is survived by her mother, Joan Jeffries, of Ellicott City, MD; son, Eric Normington, of Burbank, CA, and his family; daughter, Jacklyn Miller, of Council Bluffs, IA; significant other, Gary Wirt, of Huron, and his family; brother, Scott Jeffries, of Ellicott City, MD; sister, Betsy Walker, of Baltimore, MD, and her family; best friend/ride-or-die, Helen Wirt, of Huron, and her family; longtime friend, Becky Campbell, of Harrison, AK; along with numerous friends and extended family members across the country.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard; and infant daughter, Stacia.

At Lee's request, cremation will take place and the family will hold private services at a later date
