Renus Gibbs, age 71, of Crystal Rock, died Tuesday night, March 27, 2012, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born December 1,1940 in Clay County, KY. He worked for Sandusky Cabinets, retiring in 2004. Renus enjoyed going fishing, camping, and working in the yard gardening. He would love to spend time with his family and grandchildren camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Geneva (Hensley) Gibbs; nine daughters Angie (Jerry) David, Mona Hampton, Rhonda (Shawn) Garrison, Melanie (David) Mills, Melinda (Jeff) Lewis, Lois Reed (Johnny Downey), Betty Howell, Bonnie (David) Sizemore, and Alex (Chevy) Howell; 17 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Renus was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lucy (Lewis) Gibbs; son Gary Hensley; two sisters Ruth and MaryBell Hensley; and brother Pete Gibbs.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be on Friday at 1:00 PM. Minister Ben Patrick will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
