Janette Marie Nease, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023 at Parkvue Health Care Center after a brief illness.
Janette was born on March 29, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Donald R. and Helen K. (Smith) Jaffary.
Janette graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958 and was involved in several clubs including choir, glee club and Keynotes. She married her husband, Jim, and they lived in Garfield Heights, Ohio where she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church before moving to Twinsburg, Ohio. Most of her life she was a homemaker, but returned to work at Ferralloy Corporation as a secretary after raising her children. One of Janette's favorite pastimes was quilting, and she loved visiting Sandusky, especially going to Cedar Point.
Janette is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Tom) Sturik; daughter-in-law, Mimi Nease; grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Kiser and Andrew (Victoria Henkel) Nease; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, Janette is preceded in death by her husband, James Nease and her son, Michael Nease.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at a later date at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory in Sandusky is assisting the family with arrangements.
