Russell D. Keesee, a 42-year employee of NS Railroad, accepted his final call on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Promedica Hospital in Toledo.
He was born in Ashland, KY to Russell C and Freida T Keesee on April 19, 1948. Shortly after his birth the family moved to West Virginia. There he was free to roam the hills, caves and rivers. He was the first to say he had a Huckleberry Finn childhood.
Russell served in the US Navy from 1966 through 1972. On March 25, 1970, he married Linda Liston and she survives. He leaves 3 children: Andrea (Dean) Hurley, Shelly (Rob) Garcia, and Bryce Keesee. In addition, he is survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Judy (Mark) Flynn; and brothers: Bruce (Juanita) Keesee and Scott (Sherry) Keesee.
His family meant everything to him and when he was asked "what would you like to do today?" His response was always, "I just want to be with my family".
He was a Master Mason at Bellevue Lodge #273.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 1:00pm until a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811.
