Peggy R. Heft, 96, of Bellevue, Ohio died at Palm Gardens of Winterhaven, Florida on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Mrs. Heft was born in Lorain Ohio on July 26, 1926 to the now deceased Alice (Vickery) and Morris Griffin.
She was a member of the former York High School graduating class of 1944.
On September 3,1944, she married Paul Robert "Bob" Heft. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1989.
Mrs. Heft was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellevue. She was an avid reader as well as being a traditional farm wife of her era. Those duties included canning, cooking, hauling meals to the fields and being ready for anything that came up unexpectedly.
Two children survive, Edward Heft of Bellevue and Barbara Heft of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Heft on February 16, 2012. Also, her siblings, George Heft, Irene Gerhardstein and Fred Griffin are deceased.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Her funeral will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Justin Jump officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery.
