Shirley A. Bores, 85, of Monroeville passed away Monday April 3, 2023, in the Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born May 20, 1937, in Norwalk and was a 1955 graduate of Monroeville High School.
Shirley retired from Bores Manufacturing Company, where she was the bookkeeper. Shirley supported her husband Jack in starting a business selling his "patented" Bumper Guides; together they started with nothing and built a successful business. Prior to this she had worked for Brooker Bros. in Norwalk and at the former Farmers and Citizens Bank in Monroeville. She enjoyed cooking and baking and lit up when she was around her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a beautiful person inside and out; as she would say "you guys spoil me". She never pumped gas or mowed lawn in her 85 years but was a great wife and mother always cleaning, cooking or baking.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John F. "Jack" Bores; three children, Lisa Bell, Kevin Bores, and Michele (Steve) Dresser, all of Monroeville; five grandchildren, Dan (Mary) Molique, Elizabeth (Alvaro) Benitez, Kenny (Kelly) Dresser, Haley (Brandon) Bumb, and Ethan Bores; five great grandchildren, Jonathan, Izak, Kamila, Braden, and Bryer; one sister, Nancy Schnee of Monroeville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lucille (Nugent) Dillingham; two sisters, Peggy McGinn and Doris Kessler; two brothers, James Dillingham and Charles Dillingham; two son-in-laws, William Molique and Kent Bell.
Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2023, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Father Chris Jesudhason will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
