Walter Lee Poole III, 70, Sandusky, went to his heavenly home, Saturday, April 1, 202, in The Toledo Hospital.
He was born on July 31, 1952 in Sandusky to the late Walter and Nettie Poole, and graduated from Sandusky High School.
Walter was employed by Barr Rubber, Vermilion Foam, and retired from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky.
He was an amazing pool player, and a member of many pool leagues, winning numerous trophies. Walter never missed an opportunity to be on any dock trying to catch the big one, but barbequing was his real passion, and he opened Walt Daddy's Chicken and Rib House, his biggest accomplishment that he was so proud of.
Walter leaves to mourn his passing, sons, Isaac (Aaronica) Poole, Columbus, OH., and Walter Poole IV, Sandusky; sisters, Donna (Robert) Casteel and Gail (Floyd) Matthews, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Audri Nicole Johnson, Alysa Nicole Poole, Darius Lamont Poole, Chance Lee Poole, and Tiana Schultz; several nieces and nephews; long time companion, Alma Pearson, extended family, Keisha (Marcus) Matthews, Tara Pearson, Iniko (Mary) Pearson, Mechayla Matthews, Marcus S. Matthews, Myasia Matthews, Azarion Myers, Nevaeh Pearson, and Arieahna Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Matthews; and a niece, Dionne Conway.
Friends may call on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Minister Howard Carr will officiate.
