Darlene M. Pitzer, 71, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness.
Darlene was born on April 2, 1952 in Sandusky, OH to the late Walter and Louanna (Lash) Tippie.
Darlene worked in retail, owned and operated her own cleaning business, but most enjoyed being a stay at home mother. She was raised in the Catholic Faith and in her spare time, she enjoyed scrap booking, crafts, making greeting cards, crocheting blankets, baking and cooking. Darlene loved her fur babies, feeding the birds, squirrels and the natural wildlife around the house. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Leon E. Pitzer, whom she married on November 21, 1969; two daughters, Leslie (Bryon) Evans of Clyde, OH and Melissa (Dudley) Holland III of Zanesville, OH; three grandchildren, Shaun (Michelle) McLaughlin, Quinn Holland and Leon Holland; three great-grandchildren, Aria, Skylar and Lorelai; sister, Cheryl Bledsoe of Huron, OH; three brothers, Claude Tippie of Bellevue, OH, Walter (Lisa) Tippie of Bellevue, OH and Jimmy (Bette) Tippie of Castalia, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Lehr presiding.
