Elizabeth M. Smith, 96, Sandusky, passed away, Sunday, April 9, 2023, in the Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk.
She was born on July 30, 1926 in Sandusky to the late Thomas and Mildred (Woodford) Claubaugh.
She was employed by the former Good Samaritan Hospital and Firelands Hospital, as a LPN for 26 and half years.
Elizabeth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and she enjoyed bowling, reading, crocheting, watching Gun Smoke and Big Time Wrestling, and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Charles) Moore, Norwalk; daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith, Sandusky; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Kathy) Claubaugh, Amherst; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Cecil Smith in 2003; parents; son, Ernest Charles Smith; grandson, Benjamin Moore; sisters, Eunice Miller, Rosetta Trimarche, Mildred Mack and Beatrice Norcross; and a brother, Thomas W. Claubaugh Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
