Lyle M. Stallard

Lyle M. Stallard, 75, of Clyde died at Admiral's Point VA in Huron on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Lyle was born in Coeburn, Virginia on March 26, 1948 to Julia (Reed) and William Logan Stallard. His parents are now deceased.

Mr. Stallard attended the former Townsend School, then graduated from Margaretta High School in 1967.

He entered the United States Army February 6, 1969 and was discharged on December 24, 1969. Lyle had served with the 101st Airborne Division Infantry.

Lyle retired from Ford Motors, after 35 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde. He liked to golf, bowl and go fishing. His favorite times were spent when he was following his children and grandchildren to their extra activities, anything from wrestling, baseball, golf and parades.

On October 30, 1971, he married Mary Ann Szabo. She, along with their children, Kevin (Jodi) Stallard of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Susan (Jim) Batesole of Clyde and five grandchildren, Isaac Stallard, Aaron Stallard, Christopher Oleksiak, Julie Oleksiak and James Batesole survive.

Mr. Stallard was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Michael A. ; and his siblings, Violet Bevins, Evelyn "Gray" Morgan, Doris Moore, Judy Parkhurst, Jerry Stallard and David Stallard.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital of Cincinnati or St. Judes.
