Paul "Racer" Brown, Sr., 82, of Clyde died at The Bellevue Hospital on Monday, April 17, 2023.
Mr. Brown was born in Fayette County, Ohio on February 25, 1941 to the now deceased Alice (Monogold) and Lloyd Brown.
He was a 1959 graduate of Clyde High School.
After forty years, he retired from Whirlpool Corp in Clyde.
"Racer" liked to fix cars, but he LOVED to race them! He had raced for over 30 years at the Fremont Speedway. He also liked his role as handyman of all sorts, especially if it involved the outdoors.
On February 25, 1996, he married Eloise Streeter. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2022.
Survivors include two children, Patricia (Richard) Bessken of Clearwater, Florida and Paul Jr. (Andrea) Brown of Green Springs. Nine grandchildren, Nichole, Michele, Allison, Rikki, Kristen, Melanie; Drew, Demi, Brooklyn and step grandchild, Stephanie along with nineteen great grandchildren also survive. Her siblings, Mary (Randy) Smith, Carol Merritt, David Brown, Randy Brown all of Washington Court House, Ohio; Don Brown of Clyde and Floyd Brown of Lauraville, Ohio survive as well.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Brown and Ronald Brown.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 20,2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. Graveside services will immediately follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
