Karen S. Wilson, 59, Sandusky, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Sandusky on September 9, 1963 to the late Paul and Joyce (Keegan) Furmanek.
Karen graduated from Margaretta High School and worked as a LPN for over 30 years as a traveling nursing, the Erie County Detention Home, and for the last 15 years at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She loved anything to do with space and astronauts, making puzzles, Michael Jackson and Derek Jeter when he played for the New York Yankees.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary Wilson; children, Nicole (Chris) Conley, Julie (Antwon) Hunter, and Bryan (Amie) Wilson, all of Sandusky; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Marie (Jeff) Pishner, Sheffield Lake; brothers, Paul (Linda) Furmanek, Lagrange, KY, Tom (Connie) Furmanek, Madison, OH, and Charles Furmanek, Oak Harbor; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her special companions, Chloe and Jasmine.
Friends may call on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 5 P.M. until time of funeral services at 7 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Her son-in-law, Minister Antwon Hunter will officiate.
