Darlene "Lynne" Amison

Darlene "Lynne" Amison, 57, Sandusky, peacefully joined her Heavenly Father, surrounded by loved ones, in Providence Care Center on April 12, 2023.

Darlene or "Lynne" as she preferred to be called was born to Estell Amison Sr. and Ida Lee Amison on August 31, 1965 in Sandusky, OH. She was a 1983 graduate of Sandusky High School where she was a member of the track and field team. Lynne went to Bowling Green University and received a degree in Criminal Justice.

She was a cosmetologist and barber. She also worked at Office Max and Convenient Food Mart. In a time of need Lynne volunteered at the warming shelter at New Jerusalem Baptist Church during inclement weather. Lynne was an avid reader and she was also a Trekkie (Star Trek fan).

Lynne leaves to cherish her memories two daughters Skyye Amison,

Sandusky, and Destiny Knight, Louisville, KY; a grandson, De'Marion Amison-Williams; brothers, Clinton and Howard Amison both of Columbus, OH, Joseph (Laura) Amison, Hopewell, VA; sisters, Georgia, Mable, Nancy and Donnie "Dee Dee" all of Columbus, OH and Carrie Rhone of Prince George, VA; brother-in-law, Harold D. Smith, Sandusky, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, some of which were devoted.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Christene Amison-Smith and Allene Jeanette Amison; brothers, Samuel Lee Amison and Estell Amison Jr.

Family and friends may call at 10am Saturday April 22, 2023, until time of service at 12pm at Porters Memorial CME Church, 1722 Third St, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Pastor Hope Gibson will officiate and Pastor Cornelius Amison will deliver the Eulogy with cremation to follow.
