Andrew Scott Parker, age 48, of Columbus and formerly of Castalia, passed away Thursday April 20, 2023, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus.
He was born March 24, 1975, in Circleville's Berger Hospital to Cecil and Charlotte (Lutz) Parker.
He attended Margaretta Schools and graduated from Lancaster High School, before earning a BS degree in Logistics from Ohio University, leading to his primary employment as a systems analyst/designer.
Andrew was a passionate fan of all Cleveland and OSU sports; his life-long love for the Cleveland Indians included his first frozen/snowy opening day at age 4 and a spring training opener at Winter Haven 20 years later (washed out by a tropical storm), but also celebrated their appearances in three World Series. Through the years, no matter what his physical address, Andrew always considered Castalia/Margaretta as "Home". He has come home again to rest with his family on that bright hilltop at Castalia Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents; treasured son Jacob Scott Parker and Jacob's mother Tricia Heisler Parker; sister Gretchen (James) Roberts; nephew Dominic Roberts; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many devoted friends across the country.
Andrew was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; local aunts Valarie Markley, Brenda Sosa, and Arlene Sue Herholz; and special uncle Larry E. Lutz, who died serving our country with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and who Andrew spent many internet hours researching.
Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon Friday April 28, 2023, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Burial will be Castalia Cemetery.
