Glema King, 66, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Martin, KY, on June 7, 1956, to the late Elmer and Frances (Irvine) Newsome.
She was a member of New Covenant Lighthouse Ministries, Norwalk.
She loved God and her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very giving person and cared for everyone. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the lottery and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip King, Sr. She is also survived by her sons Phillip (Julie) King, Jr. and Patrick (Debra) King both of Sandusky; ten grandchildren Karah, Brandon, Noelle, Jasmine, Adalynn, Raelynn, Brandi, Kaleb, Helen and Izzabell; three brothers Dan Newsome, J.R. (Ruby) Newsome and Allen (Cathy) Newsome; and brothers-in-law Carl Davis and Rick Medina.
In addition to her parents, Glema is preceded in death by a sister Inez Newsome (in infancy) and her sisters Dee Davis and Erlena Medina.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory with the Pastor Kenneth Blystone presiding. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, Ohio.
