James E. Babcock, 76, Sandusky, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on January 20, 1936 in Toledo, OH, and served in the U.S. Marine Corp, during the Korean Conflict.
He was the owner and operator of Ohio Home Improvements.
James was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky, life member of Amvets Post 17, Sandusky, and a member of the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Cooper) Babcock; children, Jennifer Basinger, Scott (Shannon Evans) Blevins, Matthew (Kristina) Blevins, and Cindi; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Beulah (Pete) Babcock; sons, James E. Babcock II, and David W. Babcock; grandson, Garrett J. Blevins; sisters, Donna Heronymi, and Judy Burgman; and a brother, Eugene Burgard.
