Louise Scruggs, a woman who loved well and was well-loved was born August 3, 1926, in Moultrie, Georgia and passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023 at Providence Care Center after a brief illness.
She was blessed with 96 years of life.
Louise worked at Providence Hospital until 1991. She retired from the Dietary Department with a recognition ceremony after 39 years of service.
Louise's talents were many, she was a perfectionist in food preparation and presentation. She was known for her wit, kind heart, fun spirit and generosity. Louise loved her family and friends unconditionally.
She is survived by daughter, Joselyn and Dudley Harris Jr; grandchildren, Nina Johnson; Patrice and Alphonso Darden; Dawn Johnson; Christopher and Lori Harris; Jermaine and Nicole Harris, Chastity Johnson; Charles Johnson Jr, Iris Johnson, Crysten Johnson, Terrence Johnson, Dionne Johnson, Reece Rosin, Jenna Rosin, William Johnson-Parker; special friend Maxine McGee, great-grand children and numerous others.
Louise was the third of three children. She was preceded in death by her husband Judge Scruggs Sr; father, A B Majors; mother, Hester Porter; step-son, Judge Scruggs Jr; grand-mother, Molly Anderson; sisters, Rosalee Pittman and May Pearl Johnson.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 viewing from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Curtis Johnson Jr. will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
